Revolution Road is a pop-up store / installation produced by the multi-national music conglomerate EMI. The main focus of Revolution Road is to embrace and pay homage to our unique British music culture, and the iconic locations in London where the music we all love was created. Revolution Road also aims to introduce a new generation of fans to listening to this music on vinyl, the original format these albums were created for. In the early 1960s Liverpool gave us The Beatles, they took the world by storm starting off the ‘British Invasion’.
In the mid 1970’s, at the height of political upheaval, punk rock was born around the fashion hub of The Kings’ Road. Punk rock band, The Sex Pistols threatened authority with their anarchic anthems and foul-mouthed demeanour.  Abbey Road Studios was the creative hub where by the Beatles created their studio albums. Famously they used the studios’ name and street as an iconic album cover, with the band walking over the nearby zebra crossing.
Revolution Road is based in London, travelling to different iconic music locations made famous by artists signed to EMI. The focus within the installation is to recreate the mood and feeling that the specific locations had, inspiring the albums we love. The audience will learn how the albums were made. Whether you're feeling the groove of The Beatles in Abbey Road, or the chaotic, fast paced rock of The Sex Pistols. The installation/ pop-up store would stay for approximately two weeks in each location. Each video projection being played within the installation will be different, depending on the location. This allows the audience to have a unique experience wherever the installation is based.
